Minnesota Hauntings

Minnesota Hauntings by Ryan Jacobson

This book starts off with a little warning. “I feel it is important to note that, in some instances, I received the details as checklists of unexplainable occurrences rather than narratives. Thus, while the information remains accurate, some the scenarios (and characters) were reinterpreted for dramatic effect. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about that since I picked this book up randomly.

It’s a fairly short book and the more I read it, the more I realized that the stories in it are told like campfire ghost stories. That’s what makes it a fun little read during the spooky season or if you’re located in or around Minnesota. I’ve gotten a few ghost stories books about the Minnesota and midwest in general. I feel like I know a lot of the most notorious haunted spots around here at this point.

To my surprise, this book had stories from both the famous spots as well as stories I’ve never heard of before.

It’s a book you can pick up and put down randomly since most stories are only a couple pages long. The free time I have for reading comes and goes wildly so I personally like it when I find a book full of short stories. Altogether, there are twenty-one stories in this book about haunted public places and private homes.
